Courses For Groups & Private Persons

Klaus F: A German Special Forces student

performs on a recent unarmed combat course

RST provides a range of useful and interesting courses suitable for private citizens as well as the military.

Please note: All RST courses are carefully tailored to the students' needs - The self defence course we teach to a group of glamour models is different to what we teach Blue Light services and different again to a course for soldiers.

We teach what the student needs to know to achieve what the student wants to achieve.

As a general rule we teach unarmed combat to soldiers and self defence to civilians for obvious reasons.

We run special courses for serving soldiers, veterans, police and bodyguards from countries all over Europe as our training seems to have great appeal to these markets.

We also run courses for civilian men and women from all walks of life who want to have a little fun, perhaps share some excitement and certainly learn something new: How to keep themselves and their loved-ones safe from aggression for instance.

To give the reader an idea of what we do this page shows a number of photographs from recent unarmed combat courses provided for the German and Austrian military - though there were police and one excellent lady present on these.

What Is Required Of You?
For the civilian self defence courses nothing is required at all in the sense of fitness or experience. If you can stand up and listen then you can complete the course and learn something valuable - How to keep yourself safe and alive if you are attacked.

The other courses vary according to who is doing them.

Course Outlines

Unarmed Combat/Self Defence
This is dirty fighting to save your life. No one can learn to be a kung fu master in a few days but we can teach you to defend yourself with a series of dirty tricks over just one week end.

Civilians mostly never even see a fight unless they are attacked by a mugger or drunk in a bar or in the street. The question is, when that attack does happen, how many civilians are ready to defend themselves and their loved ones?

Ambulance service, fire service, transport staff and many other groups are becoming the targets of mindless violence. It makes sense they should be able to defend themselves.

Police are often so close to criminals that when they turn violent there is no time to draw a weapon.

A soldier should never be caught without a weapon but weapons do jam and knowing what to do close up just might keep him alive.

After completing this course most students will not only be able to come out on top in any situation they will be able to live the rest of their lives feeling secure and confident they can cope with any problem.

All students will learn the secrets of defence against kicks, punches, head butts, strangles, grabbing-assaults and a head down-charge.

Some courses are taught defence against baton attack, knife attack and pistol cover.

The military are taught how to punch, kick and otherwise strike an opponent to cause maximum damage.

All students are taught how to disable any attacker.

To teach knife, baton and pistol defence we also have to teach the correct ways professionals use these weapons.

Women
We have taught many women how to defend themselves and find they generally make excellent students owing to their habit of listening rather than trying to be macho. Women have certain advantages over men in combat which we teach them to exploit.

We understand some women like the idea of women-only courses and we can provide these if required but by far the most effective way for a woman to learn to defend herself against a man is for her to have some men around to practice on. ;-)

Escape & Evasion
E&E is a training exercise developed by the SAS and used to prepare their operators, and airmen in general, for finding themselves on the run behind enemy lines and hunted by Special Forces.

This course is not for the unfit or faint hearted as it does involve quite strenuous exercise and a lot of discomfort.

First of all the student is taught map reading and briefed on the rules then they are disoriented and dropped alone or in small groups somewhere in the wilds.

Over a set period they have to reach certain check points and perform certain tasks.

All the time they are pursued by a team of Special Forces and the longer they stay free the shorter the interrogation period.

When the students are caught they are interrogated in an effort to persuade them to give up information.

When this course is run for private citizens it is generally over a weekend and done as an individual. When for corporate clients it is often run in teams with exercises for team building and leadership incorporated.

Combat Survival
Survival on TV involves walking around gathering roots and berries in a leisurely manner. Combat survival is procuring water, food and shelter in the wilds while avoiding being noticed by the enemy and making progress to an RV.

Meat is far more concentrated nutrition than any plants you will find wild so the student is taught to catch, prepare and eat small animals and fish in a tactical manner.

Close Quarter Battle
Where a rifle is intended to be used at the greatest distance possible, in CQB we are learning how to clear streets, buildings and individual rooms by eliminating dangerous characters and then releasing any hostages. This means we are fighting up-close and personal.

Weapons do not take sides

CQB training is all about using pistols and sub-machine guns in an urban environment. The training range used for this exercise is often referred to as a killing house.

We hold these courses in Germany, Austria and Serbia where we have the best facilities.

Certificate
Everyone who completes a course gets a fancy certificate signed by Rob, the other instructors and any celebrities who happen to be around.
